November Update
I just wanted to update my blog....things have been so busy that it's been a lower priority.  I wanted to give a very heartfelt "thank you" to everyone that has made the change (and some the drive) to my Bishop Hill location that used to come to Kewanee!  I am extremely appreciative and hopefully the lower prices and short appointment times help reflect that.

We are always trying to better ourselves in the eyes of our clients and I wanted to let you know that we are trying some different grooming products and appreciate any feedback that you may have to help us to decide whether to incorporate those products or keep what we have.  We have been trying some whitening shampoos as well as some different colognes.  We have finally found a product that will remove the grease from ear medications as well as oily sabaceous-type masses!  Also, we are trying a skin treatment involving Dead Sea mud (not unlike what is used for humans).  Dead Sea mud can improve blood circulation and it also promotes natural skin growth.  Due to the fine mud grains, it cleanses and removes dirt particles, impurities and toxins that are found in the coat and on the skin.  Dogs that are suffering from skin problems such as flaking, drying, yeast-growing or bacterial infections can benefit from the mud moisturizing the skin and gently peeling away the dead and problem skin cells to reveal a healthier skin layer.  We are currently testing this on Missy, as she has some flaky, dry, itchy areas.  This is "Week 2" of the trial and we are seeing results.  Immediately her coat was softer and after the second treatment we've noticed a dramatic change in her skin.  We are hoping to make this available to our clients soon.

Finally, I wanted to mention that, in the past we have offered a free bath and nail trim to pets recently adopted from the Kewanee chapter of the Henry County Humane Society.  I have decided to extend this to any pet that is adopted from a humane society or rescue group.  You must bring in proof of the adoption (by appointment only please) and it needs to be within the first month of adoption.  Please let us know when you call to schedule the appointment.

In closing, in the event I am too busy to write for awhile, I wish everyone a happy holiday season!   Also, please remember to schedule holiday spa appointments and resort reservations well in advance to assure availibility.  Take care, Tara
